This Time Hugo Brings Joy to Elloree

Eighteen years ago in September 1989 Hurricane Hugo ravaged the South Carolina coast and continued inland to caused damage to the Elloree Training Center. Now the name Hugo is thought of in a positive light at Elloree as the two year old Stormy Atlantis colt HUGO won at Laurel on Sep. 5^th.The colt, owned by Franklin G. Smith, Sr, won by 5 ¾ lengths as he went the 5 ½ furlongs on the turf in 56.30 for trainer Hamilton Smith and jockey Luis Garcia.

The SCTOBA hopes that HUGO continues to bring joy to Elloree.
