Monthly update on graduates from training centers in South
Carolina: Custom Equine Equine
Several that wintered at Donna Freyer’s Custom Care Equine
Training Center won at first asking in 2007 . These include :
THUNDERESTIMATE - This three year old gelding just missed
in his only start at two at Saratoga in Mid August. The New York
bred gelding was hammered down to 4-5 on his return on May 2nd
at Belmont Park and did not disappoint his backers. He pressed
the early pace and rallied to win by 2 ¾ lengths over runner-up
Striking Rizzi. Thunderestimate is by Western Expression out of
the Wild Again mare Thunderously.
He is owned and bred by Flying Zee Stables and is trained by
Carlos Martin.
MANDY’S PURSE -This three year old daughter of Street Cry
out of the Danzig mare Elhasna won her first start at Belmont
Park on May 3rd.She was sent off at the 2-1 choice and rallied
from fourth as they turned for home to get up for a ½ length
victory over Cute Cognac. She ran the 1 1/16 mile on the Turf in
1:46 2/5 on a suface rated as good. The filly is owned and bred
by Lawrence Goichman and is trained by Todd Pletcher.
ANGELOUIE -This three year old capped his always in the
money fifth start with a 2 ¼ length victory on May 5th at
Belmont Park. The Johannesburg colt out of the Woodman mare
Kitra was taken off the rail on the turn to rally for the win
under Joe Bravo. The colt is owned by Golden Boy Racing and is
trained by Phillip Serpe.
SWEETSINGINANITA - This three year old filly proved again
that it is a good bet to train in South Carolina when she won at
her first start at Aqueduct at 53-1 on April 18th.
Sweetsinginanita, by Langfuhr out of the Crafty Prospector mare
El Gato Loco made a wide rally from the back of the pack to earn
the neck win over Partida.She is owned by Sisters in Racing
Stables and is trained by Leah Gyarmati.
Other Custom Care Equine graduate winners include GERRYMANDER
at Delaware Park on May 12th. Gerrymander is owned by the
Elkstone Group and trained by Michael Pino.Also winning on May
12th was CZECH THE DOX at Philadelphia Park. The three year old
gelding is owned by Joseph Asbell and trained by Phillip
Aristone.
