South
Carolina bred Skiptothegoodpart sets three track records
Four-Board Stable’s Skiptothegoodpart set a track record at his
third different racetrack in 2006 with a victory at Turfway Park
on September 29. Skiptothegoodpart was bred in South
Carolina by Camden Stud, LLC and Skipaway, LLC. He is by
Skipaway out of the Salt Lake mare Cally.
The five-year-old gelding trained by William
Denzik Jr. rallied inside the sixteenth pole under Randall Toups
to win the five-furlong starter allowance race by a head.
The chestnut runner stopped the clock in 57.23 seconds, which
bettered Turfway’s previous track record (58.81) for the
distance by more than 1 ½ seconds. The track
record was the third for Skiptothegoodpart from just five starts
this year. The previous two were both on turf-Indiana
Downs (56.54) on May 9th and River Downs(56.00) on June 18th.
The race at Turfway was on the new PolyTrack surface.
“Skiptothegoodpart is a neat little horse who’s
been a lot of fun this year,” said Jim Cullen, President of
Four-Board Stable. “He has his quirks: he can’t take a lot
of pounding, and he’s not the hardiest horse you’ll find.
But he seems to put all those problems behind him when he hits
the track, and he fires every time. He just loves to run
and we are all very proud of what he’s accomplished. I
don’t know how many horses have set track records at three
tracks in one year but there can’s be too many.”
The SCTOBA congratulates and wishes continued success for South
Carolina bred Skiptothegoodpart. |
