SCTOBA Members Active at Keeneland September Sale
 

Many SCTOBA members were present and buying at the September Keeneland yearling sale in Lexington.  SCTOBA President Lee Christian said, “Keeneland in September might be a good place and time for a membership meeting or at least a Board meeting.”

John Fort of Peachtree Stable bought 9 colts for slightly less than $2 million.  In the group were colts by Tiznow, Giant’s Causeway (2), Grand Slam (2), Hennessy, Cherokee Run, and Touch Gold. Dogwood Stable purchased 5 yearlings for their partnerships.  The group included colts by Deputy Minister, Gone West and Rahy and fillies by Forestry and Silver Deputy.  Kip Elser of Kirkwood Stable was also active buying 14 yearlings for clients.  These will be prepped for sales in the US and England.  He purchased colts by Elusive Quality, More than Ready and Grand Slam.  Franklin Smith bought several to train at the Elloree Training Center.  They included colts by Stormy Atlantic, Forest Wildcat, Grand Slam and Tiznow.  Other SCTOBA members active at the sale included Donna Freyer, Webb Carroll, Doris Rabon, Bobby and Debbie McCutchen, Wilhelmina McKewan, and Tuffy Rast.
