MALCOLM FRANKLIN WINS FIRST RACE

Apprentice jockey Malcolm Franklin of Creston, S.C. won his first race on only his second mount on July 8^th at Colonial Downs when he booted home The Bohemian in the second race.  The Bohemian won by 7½ lengths covering the mile and 1/16 in 1:45.02 for trainer Hamilton Smith and owner Jacqeline Peralta-Ramos.  Franklin has been galloping horses at the Elloree Training Center for the past 2 years.  Franklin Smith said, “Malcolm had the desire and ability to make a good rider”.  The SCTOBA congratulates Malcolm Franklin on this achievement and hopes this to be the first of many wins for Malcolm.
