LANDRUM MEETING A SUCCESS

The SCTOBA had a meeting and cookout at the FairHills Equestrian and Nature Center in the Landrum area on July 16^th.  This was the first in a series of regional meetings for the SCTOBA.     The attendees were treated to lunch and a presentation by SCTOBA Vice President Kelly Murphy and SCTOBA member Madelon Wallace.  They covered the history of the thoroughbred business in the upstate of SC.  Fairview Training Center was the home of such horses as Turkoman, Meadowlake and Chris Evert.  Fairview was operated in Landrum for more than thirty years by trainer Tony Wallace.  The group was also updated on activities of the SCTOBA including the Residency Races for 2005/2006, the Sissy Woolums and other current SCTOBA activities.
