Inaugural Running of
Sissy Woolums a Success

Outstander won the initial running of the Sissy Woolums Memorial Virginia/South Carolina Stakes.  The 5 year old bred in Florida covered the 6 furlongs in 1:08.8 to win a stretch duel with Native Heir.  Standing Room Only placed third.

The SCTOBA was represented at the race by President Lee Christian, Treasurer Gwen Christian, members Randy Kounce and his wife Kay, Bailey Bolen, Laura and Taylor Quarles and Pete O’Malley.  Christian noted that “the hospitality shown by the VTA was great.  A good time was had by all.  The SCTOBA is committed to make this part of a series of races open to horses from several states.  We look forward to next year’s race.”
