Breeder Awards

The SCTOBA held its annual awards dinner in Camden on Jan. 19th. The speaker was NYRA television personality Jan Rushton who treated the crowd with stories of the champions she galloped ,how she got known as the” hat lady” and other delightful stories from the racetrack.. This was a homecoming for Jan who is a South Carolina native and a graduate of Clemson University.

Many of the champions that Jan discussed were broken in Camden by Frank Whiteley who was in attendance.  The first Frank Y Whiteley Award for outstanding service to the SCTOBA and the South Carolina thoroughbred industry was presented to Othniel Wienges.
